Vica only sings what she feels, what is part of her inner truth.

As Pedras (The Rocks)In her first CD, As Pedras (The Stones), Vica combines her beautiful voice with songs (all unpublished) by the new generation of popular composers. She uses her versatility and musical richness as a springboard to her art.

"As Pedras" (The Stones), song that names the CD, has daring lyric that contrasts with the urban sound of "Trezentas Palavras" (Tree Hundred Words). "Pé de Dança" (Dance Foot) and "Sete de Setembro" (January, The Seventh) bring forth strong African influence in their lyrics and rhythm. "Maria Tô Pra Voltar" (Maria I'm Just Coming Back) and "Lua Na Janela" (A Moon View From The Window), one of the three songs written by Vica, have a more rural aspect.

Another promising newcomer in this CD is Marco Jabu. Vica strongly identifies with the songs of this singular composer. As she says:

"He's wonderful! It's unbelievable that an artist of his quality hasn't been discovered yet. I wanna sing all his songs I've listened to. And there are more than one hundred!"

Vica only sings what she feels, what is part of her inner truth. That's why the audience always thrills in rapture.

I believe this is another work that proves the greatness of Brazilian music.
